Prepare the Header:Connect multiple I-joists using MJC connectors or filler blocks as per manufacturer instructions.
Position the Hanger:Fit the HITB hanger onto the face of the supporting I-joist. Ensure the bottom flange tabs are tight against the bottom chord.
Fix the Face and Bottom Flanges:Fill all face round and obround holes with nails. Install nails into the bottom flange tab holes.
Secure the Top Flanges:Flatten the open flanges onto the top chords of the I-joists and drive a minimum of four nails per flange (two front, two rear).
Fix Bottom Chord Tabs:Bend the tabs over the top face of the bottom chord and secure with nails through the obround holes.
Install the Carried Joist:Place the carried joist into the hanger and fix using nails in the designated round and obround holes.
Note: Web stiffeners are required for use with HITB and HITB-LT models.
